Good News (Maybe) On The Upgrade Front

Upgrade Done - Forum Open

I have completed the bulk of the checking and configuration. There are still things to in the background and some stuff that members may, or may not, see but, essentially, it's good to go.

I'm opening it up at 19:00 tonight, (Sat. 1/11/14)

Have a look around, the bulk of the forum will look pretty much like it did before, the major change is the addition of the CMS and Blogs. Both od these are pretty much empty at the moment except for some stuff I did for testing.

I have created a thread in the OTL where you can leave comments or bug reports and the like.

Yet Another Update

Things are looking pretty positive at the moment, the upgrade itself seemed to work OK now for the checks and configurations and all that tedious stuff.

I also need to work out a few things with the new features.

At this point, unless something else springs out to bite me, go live is looking good for maybe midday tomorrow, Sunday.

Upgrade Continues

I think I'm on top of this thing now. There were some "interesting" developments during the process but I think I'm on the downhill side now. 

I'm now aiming for Sunday afternoon to go live at this point. 

What a way to spend a weekend.   :) 

Upgrade Still Happening

Still working on it but, naturally, there are some unexpected problems. Might have it finished Saturday night but I'm not sure at this stage.

Forum Back Up

Forum is on the air again. Sorry about that.

Forum Down

There is a problem with the forum at the moment. Should be resolved within the next couple of hours.

Forum Upgrade Update

Forum upgrade times and dates are finalised.

Upgrade will start 8:00am Friday October 31

Upgrade should be finished by 5:00pm Saturday November 1

Forum Upgrade

Very soon now (date to be advised) the forum will be upgraded to the latest version. The actual upgrade will take place over a period of about 24 hours during which time the forum will be off the air.

Check back here now and then for news on what's happening.

Connection problems

The forum is currently experiencing some problems and is unavailable.

Updates when I have more information.

Forum Downtime

The second part of the move to the new data centre will happen from 8:00pm on Monday 5th of May.

The forum will will off line for a few hours.

Waiting for DNS Propagation

You still might not be able to get to the forum because the new IP addresses have not propagated throughout the world. If you know how, flush your DNS cache on your computer, otherwise wait 2 or 3 hours and all should be good.

Downtime Reminder

Don't forget that the forum will be offline for around 15 minutes at 10:00am on March 25.

This is the first part of the move to a Class III data centre.

Forum is now back but there could be some minor bugs, always is with a new system. They'll get stamped out eventually.

The forum has moved, now waiting for DNS propagation to do it's thing.

The forum is now unavailable until approximately 8:00pm.

Forum Moving to New Server

Sometime soon, possibly very soon, the forum will be moving to a new server platform. This will be a bigger and faster server that should provide sufficient resources for forum growth into the future.
